Use Fresh Baked Bread To Create A Variety Of Sandwiches

by Richard Schmidt

If you tend to be in a rush each morning before work, you may not take the initiative to prepare a lunch to bring along with you to the office. Have you thought about trying a new eating venue that is located on the strip where your office is located? You do not need to necessarily go somewhere to order a prepared meal. Instead, seek a bakery and purchase some fresh bread and toppings to prepare your favorite sandwich.

Purchase Additional Ingredients In Advance

On the weekend, you will have plenty of time to purchase all of the ingredients that you would like to use to make the sandwiches that you will be eating during your lunch breaks. Fresh herbs, olive oil, a nonfat spread, and vegetables will be perfect toppings for a healthy sandwich. If you would like to enjoy a robust sandwich that reminds you of one that you would order at a gourmet sandwich shop, head to a deli to purchase thick slices of roast beef, turkey, and a variety of cheeses.

If it often takes you a week or two to consume an entire loaf of store-bought bread; purchasing bread daily from a bakery will ensure that you always receive fresh products. If you become accustomed to visiting the bakery each day, you can try a different bread variety during each visit, too.

Try a Bread Type That Will Be Complementary

Bing all of your toppings and condiments along with you to work. Store the items inside of the community break room that you and the other employees use. During your lunch, take a few minutes to head to the bakery. During your visit, you will smell the fresh aroma of loaves baking and be greeted with an array of other baked goods.

Ask to sample some bread varieties, before settling upon the one that you will use to make your initial sandwich. If any of the bread types stand out and you would like to enjoy the bread at home or at other times during each workday, purchase a couple of loaves of fresh bread.

Once you get back to the office break room, begin assembling your sandwich. Place some extra slices of bread on a platter and invite your workmates to enjoy the fresh bread at their leisure. Store the remainder of the bread inside of a bread bag or a cloth sack so that it retains its freshness before bringing the products home with you.
